Dato' Haji Rahmat Ismail, President of APSA Malaysia Chapter (International Headquarters), is the Executive Chairman of SRT-EON Security Services Sdn Bhd, a leading security company in Malaysia involved in security systems & equipments, central monitoring service, safe deposit box, consultancy, cash-in-transit, guarding services, security manuals and publications.

Since the inception of APSA Malaysia in 1998, Dato' Rahmat has contributed enormously to the association. It was through his dexterous leadership and refined management that APSA Malaysia Chapter progressed to what it is today. APSA Malaysia Chapter under his stewardship has embarked on a number of developmental programs aimed at accentuating knowledge and professionalism in Malaysian security industry.

In his mission to upgrade the standard and image of the security personnel to earn the Malaysian security profession its due recognition, Dato' Rahmat had introduced the award schemes for security professionals ie, Malaysian National Security Industry Awards.

Dato' Rahmat is currently the President of all three security associations in Malaysia namely, Security Services Association of Malaysia (SSAM), Malaysian Industrial Security Association (MISA) and Asian Professional Security Association Malaysia Chapter (APSA Malaysia).


 
  SOMBAT PIMSANG President
APSA Thailand Chapter

 
Sombat Pimsang is the President of VIP Security Services Co Ltd and holds a masters degree in Business Management from California College of Commerce. He also operates a famous security training school in Bangkok, the first of its kind in Thailand to consist classroom instruction in basic security practices, proper use of the batton, alarms and CCTV.

Sombat Pimsang is the founder President of Asian Professional Security Association. In 1992, he conceived the idea of forming a Professional Security Association in Asia to professionalize the Asian security standard. He spent the next six months traveling to meet Presidents of Asian security associations to gain support to set up the association. APSA was formed during the 1st Asian International Professional Security Conference in Bangkok in 1994 and Sombat Pimsang was elected as the first President. After the establishment of APSA Thailand Chapter, the parent body, he continued to establish chapters in India, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, China, Hong Kong and Indonesia. His leadership and contributions are instrumental to the growth of APSA. Within few years, APSA becomes the largest organization for security professionals in Asia.

In 2001, after leading APSA community for seven successful years, he stepped down from the Presidency. For his inspirational contributions to APSA, he is appointed as the Permanent Honorary President of APSA.


 

 
  DAOXIAN GU President
APSA China Chapter

 
DaoXian Gu, President of APSA China Chapter, graduated from university in China in September 1964. The same year he was assigned to People's Republic of China's Ministry of Public Security. He had successfully held the posts of Vice Head of General Office at Ministry of Public Security, Director of Economic Security Protection Bureau, Director of Household & Certificate Administration Bureau as well as Chief of Political Committee, People's College of Armed Police Force of China. DaoXian Gu holds the post of the President of China Security Association since March 2002.

 
  JOHN SHEUNG LOK NG President
APSA Hong Kong Chapter

 
John Sheung Lok Ng, President of APSA Hong Kong Chapter, is the Government Security Officer of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China, since 1993. He oversees the security policies and regulations concerning personnel, document, physical and IT as well as emergency, disaster and crisis management. He is directly responsible for the Government Emergency Response System and co-ordinates the implementation of contingency plans on natural disaster, search and rescue operations, nuclear incidents and counter terrorism which includes the plans for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) attacks.

Prior to this, John Ng was a senior police officer in the Hong Kong Police for 26 years, holding various posts in Uniform Branch, Criminal Investigation Department and Special Duty Unit (a counter terrorist specialized unit).

John Ng is the founder member of APSA Hong Kong Chapter established in 1994 and serves in the Executive Committee ever since. He was elected as the President of APSA Hong Kong Chapter in 1999 and at present is in the second tenure. His major objective is to promote the standard and professionalism of the security industry through advance training; to which APSA Hong Kong Chapter has made substantive achievements under his leadership in recent years.


 
  GB SINGH President
APSA India Chapter

 
GB Singh heads the Kawach Protection Systems Pvt. Ltd. (Established in 1983), a privately held fast expanding security system solutions provider in India, specializing in the execution of various prestigious electronic security system assignments for government, corporate, institutional and individual clients.

An outstanding science student studying Electronic Security Systems in the United States and Europe, he returned to India after completing his study to pursue the security profession. Having acquired a rich professional experience and knowledge of over two decades in security field, GB Singh contributes immensely to the security industry in India and is currently the President of APSA India Chapter, Vice President and Founder Member of APSA International.

He is a frequent and popular speaker with various national and international security conferences and seminars. GB Singh is also the only SITO (U.K.) Certified Security Trainer in India. His extensive experience and knowledge has him featured by nearly all the news media of significance in India including India Today, Star TV, BBC World, Zee TV, Doordarshan (National Television Network) etc.


 
  TOTO TRIHAMTORO President
APSA Indonesia Chapter

 
Toto Trihamtoro, President of APSA Indonesia Chapter, is the President Director of Protecom, a leading security company in Indonesia, which applies professional and specialized services based on community development and organization.

A law graduate from University of Gadjah Mada, he obtained extensive experiences in human resources development while working as HRD manager for eight years with Lippo Enterprises, one of the largest companies in Indonesia. He is also a highly qualified law consultant specializing in labour law and obtained his Master Degree from Prasetya Mulya Institute of Management in 1997. Currently he is continuing his study in Security Management in Police Institute of Science in Jakarta.

His extensive knowledge in security field enables him to play an important role in the Indonesian security industry and he also develops a threat analysis theory based on Indonesian security environment. With his continuous and concerted efforts, APSA Indonesia Chapter was officially launched on 24 August 2002 and a Protem Committee was formed. With strong support from Indonesian government and NGOs, APSA Indonesia Chapter under his stewardship has recruited thirty members albeit being a young association and hosted the Indo Security 2003 Expo & Forum with PT Napindo Media Ashatama, a leading event organizer in Indonesia in March 2003.


 

 
  JA-GWAN KOO President
APSA Korea Chapter

 

Ja-Gwan Koo, President of APSA Korea Chapter, is the CEO of Samkoo Development Ltd, a reputable total outsourcing service company with ISO 9002 standard. Ja-Gwan Koo also holds various important positions in other NGOs. Among others, as the Board of Director of Korea Association of Sanitary and Maintenance Organisations (KASMO) and Korea Building Management Association, Auditor of Korea Staffing Association, Advisory Committee Member of Korea Press Club, Management Committee Member of Korea Regional Policy Research Institute and Secretary General of Korea Labour Institute.

He was bestowed several awards in recognition of his contributions to the nation and communities such as Award of Appreciation from the Ministry of Health & Welfare, Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation, Chief of the Yongsan District Office, Seoul and Chief of Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, as well as Award of Commendation from Korea Association of Sanitary and Maintenance Organisations.

Ja-Gwan Koo holds the post of the President of Korea Security Association since March 2003.


 
  COL MANUEL P ESPEJO President
APSA Philippines Chapter
 
Col. Manuel P. Espejo (Ret) is the President of the Federation of Industrial Security Organizations of the Philippines (FISOP), Inc., also considered as the APSA, Philippine Chapter.  FISOP is the umbrella organization of safety and security associations in the Philippines, the Board of Directors of which is composed of the presidents of the presently sixteen (16) member organizations.

He is the President & General Manager of the Armadillo Protective Security Agency, Inc. (APSAI), a subsidiary of United Laboratories, Inc., the largest Filipino owned pharmaceutical company, where he retired as Assistant Vice President for Administrative Services.

Prior to his private employment, he was a highly awarded and decorated officer of the Philippine Air Force and had stints of being the Chief of the Aviation Security Command, Air Force Provost Marshal and Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Phils. (AFP) Training Command.

He holds a  Bachelor of Science from the Philippine Military Academy, a Masters in Public & Business Management, De La Salle University/University of the Philippines and Master of Science in Personnel Management from the Troy State University, Alabama, USA.

Having been the President of the Wrestling Association of the Philippines is one proof  of  Col. Espejo’s interest in sports and athletics.


 
  JOSEPH TANG President
APSA Singapore Chapter
 

Joseph Tang, President of APSA Singapore Chapter since September 2001, is the Head of Operations Planning of SATS Security Services where he is responsible for aviation security services planning for airlines at Singapore Changi Airport. He is instrumental in the development of aviation security training in SATS Security Services and is a frequent speaker with many international security conferences.

Prior to joining SATS Security Services in 1990, he had served the Singapore Armed Forces as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer for more than 10 years. During his military service, he had successfully handled numerous EOD incidents including dealing with bomb threats in various establishments and security sweep for VVIP functions. He is actively involved in national service training and holds the rank of a Major. He served as a United Nation Peacekeeping Officer in 1997 and appointed as a Patrol Base Leader in United Nation Iraq & Kuwait Observation Mission.

APSA Singapore Chapter under his stewardship had successfully organized the 9th APSA Conference 2002 in Singapore. The Conference was very well received by participants from various Asian countries, USA, UK and Australia.
